today looked sett to be a nice normal day. Sarah texted to say that there was a change of shoot schedule due to a weather front coming in. I got the text at 5:17 am. I was kinda up anyway. I couldnt sleep. I hasd both the dneg laptop AND my laptop processing scan data, and whern they got busy, the fans would kick in and break my sleep. So, text in hand, i replied. I was due to stay in the hotel. My planned boat trip to a new location was on hold due to this sudden change of plan.
Then, I just started to look at the data from over night and a good friend e mailed, insisting I get him on skype.
I thought it was just another one of his chats, about how this time he REALLY was going to learn shake…. Or something about Motion Capture…. But it wasnt.
One of my dearest friends, who no matter what adversity she encounters always remained stoic, positive and a beautiful example to all had a stroke at the age of 39. She is now in Hospital, unable to communicate and I am here feeling really upset.
Only two days ago I dropped her a line as I had not seen her on MSN for a while, and wanted to let her know I arrived safe and sound. Normally she gets back lightning fast, so I thought it was a little odd to have not heard a word.
I have no idea as to the extent of the stroke, other than its not good at all. I probably wont hear anything until next week when people get to visit and news will trickle through…
Until then, I just have to wait for news on one of my oldest friends, who always brightened up what ever room she walked into. I hope it wont be too long before she can continue doing just that
