moon over sea

The view from our room overthe beach sometimes gives us a great show, for free….

Tonight, with the camera still set to the long exposures I was using last week, I snapped these off on the mini tripod and for a snap, I am very very pleased indeed…

This was taken at about 10pm.

RUNAROOOOOOUND!

Love him or hate him, the passing of Mike Reid conjours up a few memories of my own, as I sat in front of the TV after school, Action Man in hand trying to fathom out what the hell was going on during the Kids TV show he presented, RUNAROUND!
I was very surprised to see the title sequence has been upped on you tube….. and hearing it again peels back the years in an instant. An ideal tonic for the incurable Nostalgic.

I always knew when this show was about to start because A: it always got a lot of coverage in Look-In
And back then, even when none of it really made any sense, there was something about the energy of the show that made it both watchable and of course, a classic….

… and now, they are pushing the delux Black version, when they have not addressed the issues with the bog standard white one…..

Well, not mine…. Its Rolands….

But this is the film I am currently working on. Thats all I can say… other than I am having too good a time. Even though I should be shattered, I am really enjoying this project.

Rebirth of the cool

I have to say, that when they were rebuilding the area around Festival hall and Hungerford Bridge, I was very sceptical….. but every day, as I walk past, there is something new to see. Today, they hung a massive canvas painting on the wall for the literature festival. It is gigantic… and yet people just walk past, oblivious to its scale, the work involved or what it is advertising…

That seems such a terrible shame….
I love the work of Martin Rowson, and find the smallewr details and gags in this peice to be very amusing… enough to make me smile as I battle with the unseasonal winds as I walk to work…
As much as I like the Oil Paintings they are hanging all over SoHo at the moment, I much prefer to see this kind of work….
