Facial animation PT II & III

|

More extreme Poses

And a different take

Blink, and you’ll miss it….

|

Aaaaaaah, my very first tv appearence.

‘Twas a few long hot days in some school in Chelsea or Fulham…. and I remember how awkward I felt traveling from Croydon to the BEEB at White city, before getting on a bus to the location… it was a great adventure, but I was very uncomfortable with the idea of wearing school uniform in the middle of the summer holidays…

Still, it was something to talk about at the start of year two at St Josephs, even managed to get out of debit detention on the friday this episode aired, just so I could rush home and watch it.

Ahhhh, the memories.

Facial animation

|

Taking a break from robots, wizards and other stuff, I am getting to do some facial anim exercises fro my own pleasure / advancement…

This is the first warm up, and then onto some more xtreme poses and dialogue.

Its all part of the Digital Tutors Facial animation series… so character design credit goes to them..

Stupid BBC…

|

today, the BBC asked its web readers to write a speach for the Oscars… you know, I wanna thank mother and God…

Well, I indulged them.. although obviously I cant take credit for the written word, thats all Bill…. but the last bit (by me) kinda sums up how vacuous the awards really are….

So, speech by Bill, reasoning by me…

I mean, yes… its nice to acknowledge artists when they create nice works of art… but all the award nominees in the main catagories are all on such inflated wages, do they really need the kind of ego massaging that comes with an added oscar?

I dont think so.

Instead of picking up an Oscar, why dont you step into the real world and pick up an issue and see what changes you can affect??

Cast & Crew

|

Well, today I received complete validation that every choice I made since “quitting” puppeteering to become a CG artist was the right choice.

To the casual browser who may happen across this random blog, you may feel a “whoopy fucking doo!” come on.. but to me, its a big deal… because those three years of utter hell as I tried to learn a new trade at home, whilst also trying to support a family were well spent. Im so glad I didnt cave into family pressure to get a “normal” job…. It was suggested at one point that I go into I.T, with not even a thought as to whether this would actually be a wise move…

Still, I dug my heels in and refused to budge…. and glad I did so. It may not be my first Cast & Crew Tee shirt per se, but like my Muppet one from 92, this one means a hell of a lot, as it represents more than just “working on a film”. It represents a dream, and ambition fulfilled… and hopefully the first of many many more.

Bill Hicks would love this

|

I have a feeling Bill is laughing his socks of right now… where ever he is, he is laughing.

Why?

Because some poor sap has just spent 1.5 million on the window that Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK from.

Or

Some poor dick has just paid 1.5 million quid for a window. I guess it depends on which conspiracy you subscribe to. Personally, I think that if you really wanted a window, you should just call the nice guys at Everest, and they’ll fit the best!

See, like Bill, I subscribe to the fact that there was no one in the window…

“I love talking about Kennedy. I was just down in Dallas, Texas. You know you can go down there and, er, to Dealey Plaza where Kennedy was assassinated. And you can actually go to the sixth floor of the Schoolbook Depository. It’s a museum called… ‘The Assassination Museum’. I think they named that after the assassination. I can’t be too sure of the chronology here but… Anyway they have the window set up to look exactly like it did on that day. And it’s really accurate, you know, cos Oswald’s not in it.” Bill Hicks

So, why on earth would anyone want to buy a nondescript window because it is supposed to be where a man who was never proven to have been the killer sat and killed a man with what can only be described as a magic bouncing bullet??? Now, the bullet… thats worth 1.5 million… but the window??? C’mon! I got 11 windows you could have bought from me for a fraction of the price..

Get yer ass to Mars

|

Dave Fletcher (aka Fletch) from the www.actionmanhq.co.uk took this picture of one of his A.M’s by some rock…

I then had a play with the pic until it looks as it does now…. Martian and “on the move”.

Cheers Dave for the shot! Here is his original
