Alias is no longer…

|

and another thing, whilst I wait for a HDD to defrag. I have just logged onto the alias site, home of Maya until AUTODESK bought them. I guess resistence is futile because the once fab ALIAS site, home of free shaders, textures, tips and updates now looks exactly like the hell that was and still is the AUTODESK web site….

Looking at it, I dont know if I can even be bothered with looking for Bonus tools and the like. The old site felt like home. I knew where everything was, and now I havent got a clue.

I really try hard to not get too woried about what will happen to Maya… I would like to think that in a perfect CG world they will continue to develop it, and not roll MAX and Maya into one package. Yet they have done just that with the web site.

Yuk.

My first blog entry….

|

So this is me. Well its not really me, its a fake me. Far more interesting than the real me….

Lets just say that at 36 years old, I find myself lusting after anything from the eighties, and this week, my fruitless ebay search has been the very hard to find Yamaha YHL-003 and 006.

These were awesome! They sounded crap, but they were awesome to look at. The never slipped, looked the nuts and were designed by porsche.

My own pair went to the great headphones home in the sky in 88 when a passing cy7clist got too close to me in Grado, Italy and snagged the cable, ripping it from the headphones. As an 18 year old away from home, it was all doom and gloom, and the thought of fixing them never was an option. They were screwed. Ergo, they were chucked in the bin and its only now, some 18 years later that I find myself wanting them again.

I have no idea what the difference was between 003 and 006. Probably 3. So, if you happen upon this blog whilst doing a google to see how much you may get for yours on E bay, droip me a line, chances are I still have not found any, and would be more than happy to buy yours.

There are a few out there, and Im sure many of them still work. To me, these are the sonic equivelent of MB games BIG TRAK, or a Steve Austin Doll….. I MUST FIND A PAIR.

Its sods law tho, im sure I will be equally as dissapointed when I get them again as I was first time round. But till I find a pair, I will never know.
