Sat in the 1st class lounge at Heathrow. All was going great! Have a few hours to kill and was looking forward to a bit of Louis whilst I wait….

Dammit! Im still in the UK. I can still make calls on the UK network…. so why do they control the interweb so vigorously once you pass those gates?

I guess I’ll have to now leave the lounge and hit HMV for some impulse buy that I will no doubt regret

Anyway….

Bumped into an old friend today that I had not seen for (and I am embarrassed to say) 13 years.

And it looks like he has been quite a busy chap. Chances are, I have marvelled at some of his work without even knowing it was him, as my toy research got deeper and deeper…

Looks like Jeff Wayne’s new tour has a new vendor who basically have taken my original new versions and fucked them up beyond compare.

Im sure they will bask in the glory and take full credit, but in my eyes, its the many months of hard work that I did here… in my house, for free in 2004 – 2005 that got that ball well and truly rolling… long before the previous vendors got involved and long long before the new ones came into the picture.

Anyway… im happy to take a back seat and watch from the side lines…. Their journey has just begun, and I’m certain they have a long road ahead of them . I’m sure the application of new shaders and bolting on a few widgets here and there will really make that big an impact…. I think Wildfires biggest struggle has yet to start….

Its actually quite scary how good and focused she is at this… Looking forward to taking her to the rifle range for some longer distance shooting

So, ,here i am in the back of the car that picked me up, heading home. It’s a surreal feeling i have, because as we shoot down the a3 I don’t fe el that i have been away. Sure, I have a tan and a shed load of work to be getting on with now…. But.   Utah and Arizona just seem so far away now. 

I have had the best time ever. When i arrived out there, I really let my hair down a bit too much, but. Managed to reign myself back in a bit for the rest of the tour. 
In fact, towards the middle and end part of the tour, i really actually found myself going the other way and becoming a bit of a recluse… Doing my own things. I made some great friends out there, both on the show and locally. Shot many many guns and had a blast. 

I fell in love yet again with the usa. More so this time because i was able to really appreciate it for all its pros and cons. Page arizona wouldn’t be everyones cup of tea… But i really felt at home there. The mood and climate just felt great…. The heat slowed me down to a more casual pace. 

Of course , I can’t talk about the work, but I’ll post some pics up soon of al the other stuff….. Happy times, but now im back, hopefully happier times ahead.
